What does Visaful do best?

Visaful is an AI mock interview app for US visa interviews: an AI officer asks your visa's questions out loud and shows what to fix.

Four things set it apart.

1. A voice officer who follows up. Visaful's AI officer asks, cuts in and follows up on what you just said, out loud, at window speed. Each mock takes 2 to 4 minutes, like the real interview. The questions come from a bank of 149 questions drawn from reported visa interviews, including 69 "nightmare" ones on money, ties, family in the US and past refusals.

2. The likely decision, with reasons. After every mock, you see what an officer would likely decide: Approve, 221(g) or 214(b) risk. Visaful shows the exact words that drove that call, so you hear your answers the way an officer would. Our guides explain what a 214(b) refusal means.

3. Line-by-line notes on your own words. Visaful marks the lines that hurt you and suggests a better line to say instead, kept true to you. It also checks every answer against your DS-160 and flags anything that doesn't match, then gives you your top 3 fixes before the real interview.

4. Border interview modes. Beyond B1/B2, F-1 and H-1B visa interviews, Visaful practices the US port of entry interview, the Global Entry interview and the NEXUS interview. See what CBP officers ask at the US border, the Global Entry interview and the NEXUS interview.

Visaful is personalized to your visa, country and consulate. It starts with a free trial. Prices are on visaful.com, with local prices in some countries.

What do the other AI visa interview tools offer?

Here's what each tool says about itself on its own site, checked October 28, 2026.

Permito (permito.ai) describes itself as a visa mock interview with an AI consular officer that "challenges your answers, catches red flags." It covers 8 visa types, including F-1, B1/B2, H-1B, K-1 and J-1. You speak to the officer and get a mock verdict with 3 specific fixes. Plans are one-time payments from a free single mock up to an unlimited plan, and its Until Approved plan refunds you if you're denied within 60 days. It also offers free tools, such as a DS-160 checker and a bank balance calculator.

VisaInterview.ai (visainterview.ai) offers mock interviews "shaped around your visa, your story, and the pressure points officers probe." It covers many US visas plus Canada, UK, Germany, Australia and Schengen. You can answer by microphone or by typing. It sells unlimited access by time period, 7 days or 30 days, and each mock ends with a readiness report.

Visaz (visaz.app) calls itself "an AI mock visa interview app." You practice out loud with an AI consular officer, pick an officer style from patient to skeptical, then review a transcript, score and feedback. It covers US, Schengen, UK and Canada interviews, and it's on the App Store as "Mock Visa Interview: Visaz AI." It starts with one free practice minute.

VisaMind (visamind.com) is a visa planning tool across 15 countries. It gives you a personalized document checklist, a step-by-step timeline and AI voice interview coaching. One $29 payment per visa application unlocks the plan, including unlimited AI interview practice. It also sells an optional 45-minute Zoom mock interview with a former USCIS officer for US family-based cases.

InterviewIvy (interviewivy.com) offers a realistic AI visa officer with "instant feedback & tailored follow-up questions." You answer out loud, and each interview ends with a score and a breakdown of confidence, red flags and clarity. Its pack of 6 mock interviews costs $3.99.

MockVisa (mockvisa.com) lets you practice with AI officers who can be "strict, casual, or neutral." After each mock it scores your answers, tone and clarity, and shows improved answers based on your background. It also answers custom interview questions. Plans are sold by number of mocks, with prices shown in US dollars and set in Nepalese rupees.

Can you practice a visa interview for free?

Yes. Every tool in the table has a free start: Visaful has a free trial, and Permito, VisaInterview.ai, InterviewIvy and MockVisa each give one free mock or session. Visaz gives one free practice minute, and VisaMind lets you build your visa plan for free before you pay.

You can also practice for free with a friend or a phone. Ask a friend to play the officer with the questions from our US visa interview questions guide, and to interrupt you with "why?" and "how?" the way an officer would. Or record yourself answering out loud and play it back. Listen for answers longer than two sentences, ranges instead of numbers, and words like "maybe."

How do you choose an AI mock visa interview tool?

Four questions help you pick.

  1. Does it cover your visa? Check that the tool lists your exact visa. For a B1/B2, F-1 or H-1B interview, or a US border interview, Visaful covers it.
  2. Will you speak out loud? A real visa interview is spoken and short. Saying answers out loud under time pressure is different from typing them.
  3. Does it follow up? Officers ask the next question based on what you just said. A tool that follows up shows you where your answer leads.
  4. Does the feedback tell you what to change? A score alone tells you where you stand. Notes on your exact words, and a better line to say, tell you what to fix.

No tool can tell you what a real officer will decide. A consular officer makes that decision at the window. Practice helps you answer clearly, honestly and in line with your DS-160, which is the part you control.

What should you practice in any tool?

Whatever tool you use, these three questions come up in almost every US visa interview. Each has a sample answer. These are examples, not answers from real applicants: swap the bracketed details for your own true ones, and never memorize a script. More questions are in our F-1, B1/B2 and H-1B guides.

"What is the purpose of your trip?"

  • Why they ask: the officer checks that your plan fits the visa you applied for.
  • What a strong answer does: names the purpose, the place and the dates in one sentence.

Sample answer (swap in your own details): "I'm visiting my daughter in [Dallas] for her graduation on [May 16], and I'll stay for [three weeks]."

Weak answer: "Just to see the US and visit some people."

What the officer may ask next: "What does your daughter do there?"

"Who is paying for this?"

  • Why they ask: the officer checks that the trip or your studies are paid for and who controls the money.
  • What a strong answer does: names who pays and gives one number that matches your DS-160.

Sample answer (swap in your own details): "My father is paying. He runs [a textile business in Coimbatore] and earns about [18 lakhs] a year, and we have [$41,000] in savings for my studies."

Weak answer: "My family will manage. Around 15 to 20 lakhs, I think."

What the officer may ask next: "What does your father's business do?"

"What will you do after your trip, or after your degree?"

  • Why they ask: for most visas, the officer has to see why you'll go home (section 214(b)).
  • What a strong answer does: names the job, the city and when you'll go back, and only says it if it's true.

Sample answer (swap in your own details): "After my degree, I'll return to [Coimbatore] and work in [my father's textile business], running [stock planning]."

Weak answer: "I'll try to get some experience there first, then come back, maybe."

What the officer may ask next: "Why not work in the US after your degree?"

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI mock visa interview?

An AI mock visa interview is a practice interview where an AI plays the visa officer. It asks the questions officers ask for your visa, listens to your answers and gives you feedback on what to fix.

Which AI visa interview tools use voice?

On their own sites, Visaful, Permito, Visaz, VisaMind and InterviewIvy describe voice practice. VisaInterview.ai offers voice or text. MockVisa's home page doesn't say.

Is there a free AI mock visa interview?

Yes. Visaful has a free trial, and Permito, VisaInterview.ai, InterviewIvy and MockVisa each offer one free mock or session. Visaz offers one free practice minute.

Which tool practices US border interviews?

Of the tools we checked, Visaful is the one that lists US port of entry, Global Entry and NEXUS practice on its own site.

Can an AI tool predict whether I'll get my visa?

No. A consular officer decides at the window. Visaful shows what an officer would likely decide based on your mock answers, so you know what to fix, but that's practice, not a prediction of your real result.

How many mock interviews should I do?

Do as many as it takes for short, true answers to come easily. Practice your weakest answers until they're clear in one or two sentences.

Does Visaful work for visas other than B1/B2, F-1 and H-1B?

Visaful's visa interviews are B1/B2, F-1 and H-1B. Its site says J-1 and K-1 are coming next. It also practices US port of entry, Global Entry and NEXUS interviews.
